Selfless, caring, nurturing, loyal, passionate, compassionate, generous, kind. All of these words describe Kelly Greenberg.

During her successful 20 plus years of coaching, Kelly has touched the lives of hundreds of young women. She has played a huge role in their development on and off the court. Kelly is the type of coach that believes her players should leave her program with more than wins, losses, championships and records. She realizes that there is life after basketball and makes sure each player leaves her team prepared to take on the real world.

Kelly Greenberg recruited our daughter during her high school career. She was set to play under Kelly at The University of Pennsylvania. Just before our daughter was going to commit to Penn, Kelly accepted the head coaching job at Boston University.

As parents that devoted an endless amount of time and money to basketball, we wanted our daughter to play for a coach that would not only contribute to her development in athletics, but also to her growth as a young women. We knew that Kelly was the right fit.

We went on an official visit to Boston University and our daughter fell in love with the school and the basketball program. As parents we knew that Kelly had the best interest of our daughter and every other young women in her program. Living five hours away in Philadelphia it was important that we felt that trust and sense of confidence in Kelly.

Just days after our official visit to Boston University our daughter was offered a full scholarship at a local division one university in Philadelphia. She took the opportunity to stay close to family and her life in Pennsylvania. It was very tough for her to inform Kelly that she would not be accepting the offer at Boston University.

When our daughter spoke with Kelly and informed her of the decision she made, Kelly was very supportive and told her that she was a “hometown girl” and would have a great career in Philadelphia. Her well wishes and support meant a lot to our daughter and our family.

After four demanding years of division one basketball our daughter graduated with a degree from one of the most prestigious business schools in the country. She went on to work in the business world and coached both high school and AAU basketball. During the summer of 2011 our daughter crossed paths with Kelly Greenberg again. Only this time she was offering our daughter the opportunity to work under her as the Director of Basketball Operations at Boston University.

Our daughter didn’t hesitate to accept the position. She was excited to begin her career in college basketball with someone like Kelly, a successful woman that is recognized around college athletics as one of the best. As parents we were more than happy to have our daughter move away from Philadelphia to Boston to coach with Kelly. She took our daughter in as one of her own. Kelly treated her the way she treats her players: like a member of her own family, like her own daughter.

Kelly Greenberg is loved and admired by so many people in the communities she has coached and lived in up and down the east coast. Ask anyone in the world of women’s basketball about Kelly Greenberg and you will not hear a negative word. Kelly is Boston University Women’s Basketball. She should be praised for all of the great things she has done for people.
